As we all know everything is better with bacon, so with that in mind I present Bacon Green Bean Bundles. This recipe has my name all over it. Bacon, butter, deliciousness! What could be better
Now I must admit, this recipe I first saw on a fellow bloggers site, How Sweet It Is, and it was delicious. So delicious in fact that my parents actually asked me to make it twice in one week.
If you want to make it yourself, and lets be honest of course you do, here are the ingredients you will need
fresh green beans
thick-cut(or extra thick cut) bacon
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 cloves of garlic, minced( I like using a small grater to accomplish this. Then give it another chop for good measure)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Now that all your ingredients are ready to go take the green beans you have(I used between 500g and 1000g) and wash them, remove the stems and put them in a bowl with some salt and pepper. Mix thouroghly.
Now grab a handful of beans and wrap them up in a piece of thick cut bacon. Repeat with all green beans and bacon slices. With every bacon bundle created lay them, seam side down, in the baking dish covered with parchment paper. This helps hold the bundles together.
When complete, take a small saucepan and turn it on to medium low heat. Add the butter, garlic, dark brown sugar and salt and better. Heat it up, let everything melt together so that all the flavors infuse into the sauce. Then scoop out mixture and dump a bit on each bean bundle.
Cover with tin foil and place in a 420 degree oven for about 30 minutes. After this remove the tin foil and place under the broiler until the bacon is crispy. Remove, plate and enjoy the deliciousness that are green been bacon bundles.
